Frances Lee Payne Melton, 72, of Tabscott, Va. died July 7, 1998 in a Richmond hospital. She was a life long member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Allen Melton of Tabscott; two sons, Thomas Melton of Sandy Hook and Dale Melton of Tabscott; one daughter, Ida Mae Melton of Charlotte, N. C.; three sisters, Maxine Payne and Jean Poarch, both of Tabscott and Helen Winston of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Nikki and Jacob. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 1998 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Johnson will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the Hadensville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. Family will receive friends at the Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
