Christian married Lousana Raney.

31. Lt. Archelaus Mitchell Perkins [scrapbook]^{1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8} (John , William , William ) was born⁹ on 6 Jul 1760 in St Peters Par., New Kent Co., VA and was christened¹⁰ on 4 Aug 1760 in St Peters Par., New Kent Co., VA. He died^{11, 12} on 16 Apr 1849 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., MO and was buried^{13, 14} in Herndon Cem., now Oak Hill Cem, Carrollton, MO. Archelaus served in the military Ensign 5th Virginia; 2d Lieutenant, 24th November, 1781¹⁵ 11 Sep 1780 - 1 Jan 1783 in VA. He resided 1786 - 1841 in Lickinghole Creek, Goochland Co., VA. He transacted land received 2666.67 acres of land but apparently sold it¹⁶ on 16 Jul 1798 in Ohio.

Archelaus M. Perkins was born in New Kent County, Virginia and moved with his family to Goochland County around 1766. He entered the American Revolution from Goochland and on September 11, 1780 was appointed Ensign in the Fifth Regiment Continental Line. He served at that rank and as Adjutant in the Virginia troops until being promoted to Lieutenant of Infantry on November 24, 1781. He served until January 1, 1783. He also served as sheriff of Goochland and paid personal taxes there from 1785 until 1841. He is listed as captain in 1788 and as major in 1816. On February 3, 1784, he received five years' full pay and 2666 2/3 acres of land, Bounty #2383 from the Commonwealth of Virginia. On February 22, 1799 on account of his service as an officer, he received 200 acres from the United States, Bounty Land Warrant #1744. According to the Virginia Pension Roll of 1835, Archelaus was receiving $320 annual allowance that began on August 13, 1828 and had received $2,880 up to that point.

After the war he married Ann Mitchell, daughter of William Mitchell and Agnes Payne, an aunt of Dolly Madison. He was a man of considerable means and owned a carriage, a watch, a clock, a large looking glass, and other personal items for which he paid personal taxes. He also owned land on Lickinghole Creek adjoining that of William Perkins. He paid real estate taxes in Goochland from 1786 until 1841. In his old age he got in his gig and drove out to Missouri to see his sons. Legend has it that his hound dog followed him to the Ohio river, but could not cross, so came back to Goochland. In 1840, Archelaus was living in Glasgow, Howard County, MO. He died in 1849 in Carrollton, MO.

Archelaus married Ann Mitchell "Patsy"^{1, 2}, daughter of William Mitchell and Agnes Payne, on 2 Sep 1784 in St James Northam, Goochland Co., VA. Patsy was born on 8 Mar 1766 in Goochland Co., VA. She died in 1838.

From Goochland County Deed Book 24, p.273: On May 15, 1820, signed power of attorney to his nephew John Perkins: "I, Grief Perkins, of Goochland Co., in Va., intending shortly to go to the western country". Moved to Logan County, KY. Logan County Court Records, 4 Jul 1825, p.177 - Grief Perkins produced his commission and certificate of qualification as a justice of the peace for Logan County which was ordered to be herewith filed.

James Perkins was executor for estate; also for Isaac O. Perkins and A. G. Hopson as Grief Perkins had been their executor. Settlements in 1841 recorded according to Court Orders.

Apparently left Goochland County about 1810.
