This package is intended to demonstrate one technique for interfacing CICS with the SMTP mail capability of TCPIP for MVS. This package is only intended to send outbound mail and has no provision for reading mail responses, although the same technique could be used to do so. The package consists of the following modules:
sendmail.asm The assembler CICS sendmail program.
mailtest.cbl A COBOL program used to test the interface.
mailmap.bms The BMS map source for mailtest.cbl
mailmap.cpy The COBOL copy book from mailmap.bms
This code is provided free of charge for use as an example of how to send SMTP email from a CICS application using standard CICS programming. No warranties of any kind are conveyed or implied by the use of this code.
